Research Project Home Page
Welcome! The purpose of this website is to provide instructions for 4th grade students as they complete a research project and make a movie about a famous person. You will sign up for your famous person in class, and begin working on your project that same day.
Each of the people on the list has made an important contribution to our society. They have changed or improved our world with their actions or words. By researching this famous person, you will be answering a very important question about that person: What contribution did this famous person make? In other words, what are they famous for? It is important that you explain this clearly and take time to really read about your person. Remember to write information in your own words, do not just copy facts down onto your notes. As you learn about your person, jot down two more questions about that person that you will attempt to answer in your notes.
To complete your project, you must do ALL of the following:
1. Gather information about your person and write notes in your own words on your paper.
2. Find between 3-10 pictures or photos of your famous person that are relevant to them or the contribution they made to society.
3. Cite every source that you use by writing it down on the bibliography page attached to your note-taking page.
YOU CAN DO THESE THREE STEPS SIMULTANEOUSLY (at the same time, as you are working)
4. Use all the information, pictures, and citations you have gathered to create a really cool online presentation. (I'll tell you more about this step later.)
Click on the menu tabs at the top to help you through each step.
